Dennis Wallace – DWWallace Consulting Services
My wife and I moved to the Lake of the Woods area in 2003 after twelve relocations from Alberta to Prince Edward Island. We enjoy lakeside living and tranquility. I can operate my consulting business with ease from home which is 20 kilometres west of Kenora.
I work across Canada, including the Northwest Territories, as a consultant doing projects ranging from First Nations comprehensive claims to power projects. With wireless high speed internet and access to meeting facilities in Kenora, I have all of the services needed to teleconference, prepare and transmit documents and meet clients. I can also travel coast to coast economically because I am only two hours by automobile to the Winnipeg International airport, a very central location.
Having led organizations with up to 4,000 employees in large Canadian cities, I now realize what peace of mind can be.
Geordie McEwen – The Blue Heron
When I was young, we spent all our spare time at the lake. Once I finished University, and had only 2 weeks per year, I realized that I spent all of those 2 weeks at the lake. In 2002, I was up here working on a contract when I realized that my heart belongs to Lake of the Woods. All of my best childhood memories were made here.
Living here year round is a dream come true. Being here when the loons arrive in the spring, the ice forms in the fall and then throughout winter is…
To me, winter added a whole new dimension to life at the lake. If you think you love it in the summer, you won’t believe how much you love it in the winter! All 4 seasons are great!
During that first winter, to see Lake of the Woods and Kenora in the winter when it returns to its normal size, was special—the curling, the concerts,…that’s why I chose to live in Kenora
Kenora is a place I love calling home year round
